A leading chairmanship aspirant for Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Abiodun Ogungbo, has congratulated the outgoing Chairman, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, on his recent recognition with the prestigious Vanguard Newspaper Award.
Mayor Oshinowo was honoured as the Grassroots Development Icon of the Year, after emerging as the top-ranked chairman out of 774 local government leaders across the country—an accolade that reflects his outstanding leadership and commitment to grassroots transformation.
In a goodwill message ahead of the award presentation, Hon. Ogungbo expressed admiration for Oshinowo’s accomplishments, describing the honour as “well-deserved.”
“On behalf of my family and teeming supporters, I, Abiodun Ogungbo, Chairmanship Aspirant, extend my heartfelt congratulations to our incumbent Chairman, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, on your well-deserved recognition and award by Vanguard Newspaper tonight,” he said.
He praised Oshinowo’s tenure for its dedication to development, transformative initiatives, and the prioritization of residents’ welfare.
“This recognition is a testament to your service and the positive strides taken under your stewardship. Wishing you continued success and greater heights ahead,” Ogungbo added.
The aspirant also used the opportunity to reassure residents of his readiness to sustain and build on the gains recorded under the Oshinowo-led administration. He pledged to consolidate on existing projects, champion community-focused governance, and ensure the continuation of life-changing programmes should he be elected as the next council chairman.
