Gbenga Omotoso; and Ikosi Isheri LCDA Chairperson, Princess Samiat Bada, during the commissioning of the complex on April 15, 2025.
Hon. Kazeem, who served as Executive Secretary of the council, described the commissioning as a symbol of hope and progress for the community. Speaking at the event, he said the newly inaugurated projects represent more than physical infrastructure—they embody the aspirations, resilience, and empowerment of the people.
“These are not just buildings,” Kazeem said. “They are symbols of hope, of progress, and of empowerment. The multipurpose hall is a place where we gather, celebrate, and bond as a community. The shopping complex will not just serve commercial needs but will help build dreams, support local businesses, and create opportunities.”
He expressed gratitude to God for witnessing the strides of the council in his lifetime and called on residents and staff of the council to maintain the structures for sustainable development.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotosho, commended the council for the projects, noting their potential to drive internal revenue generation (IGR) and boost the council’s economic base. He also urged the council to establish strong maintenance systems to ensure the longevity of the new facilities.
Chairperson of the Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Bada, highlighted the significance of the Isheri Area Office redesign, one of the projects commissioned, describing it as a step towards bringing governance closer to the people.
“These projects are not just about infrastructure,” Bada said. “They are about equipping our residents with tools and resources to succeed. Each structure represents a promise—we will never stop working to improve the lives of our people.”
The commissioning ceremony was attended by dignitaries, community leaders, and residents, many of whom praised the council’s commitment to development and inclusivity.
