A member of the Labour Party, Hon. Okufuwa Samad Oluwatoyin, has congratulated his brother and fellow alumnus of Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School, Ikeja, on receiving a prestigious award from Vanguard newspaper.

In a statement released over the weekend, Hon. Okufuwa described the recognition as well-deserved, applauding the awardee’s achievements and integrity.

“It is time to put politics aside for a moment and congratulate my dear brother on this honour. To be honest and sincere, you truly deserve it,” he said.

Beyond the congratulatory message, the lawmaker used the opportunity to advocate for transparency and nonviolence in the forthcoming local government elections, particularly in the Kosofe area of Lagos State.

“As members of the opposition parties in Kosofe, we beseech you to use your good office to ensure a free and fair election, devoid of violence,” he appealed.

The statement concluded with renewed calls for unity and peaceful democratic engagement: “Congratulations once again. Thanks, fam.”

The message comes amid increasing political activity and public concern over credible electoral processes ahead of the local government polls in Lagos.
