Aina Karimat Adebisi, a Nigerian student, was among the graduates celebrated at the Wrexham University Graduation Ceremony held on Tuesday, April 16. She was conferred with a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Business and Finance Management.

Clad in full academic regalia, Adebisi beamed with pride as she joined other international graduates in marking the completion of their academic journey. The ceremony, which held in a colourful and vibrant atmosphere, brought together students from various countries, reflecting the university’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Speaking with KosofePost publisher, Bilesanmi Abayomi KOKO, shortly after the event, Adebisi described her academic journey as tough but fulfilling.

“I am very happy. It wasn’t an easy journey. The stress, the cold weather—it was tough. But in the end, it was all worth it. It became something I enjoyed, and I found it very interesting,” she said.

She recounted how she navigated demanding coursework, research assignments, and evaluations using tools like the university’s library and research platforms. Despite moments of discouragement, especially after receiving some grades, she said support from friends helped her stay focused.
On funding her studies, Adebisi expressed deep gratitude to her family and husband for their unwavering support.
“It’s not easy to obtain an MSc degree in this country without financial support. You have to work hard—working in a warehouse, cleaning jobs—it’s tough. I thank God and my husband for standing by me throughout,” she added.
Her story adds to the growing presence of Nigerians pursuing postgraduate education abroad and excelling. Wrexham University, located in Wales, is known for its inclusive learning environment and strong business programmes that attract students from across the globe.
Encouraging others who aspire to follow a similar path, Adebisi offered words of inspiration:
“Don’t be afraid. There’s nothing God cannot do. With God, all things are possible. You can achieve anything you set your mind to in this country.”
Adebisi’s achievement is being celebrated not just by her family but also by members of her community, particularly in Kosofe, Lagos, where her academic milestone is seen as an inspiration for young women aspiring to further their education.
