As Christians worldwide marked Good Friday, leaders across Kosofe Local Government Area and Ikosi-Isheri LCDA delivered goodwill messages urging reflection, unity, and renewed commitment to community development.

The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Barr. Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe, in a statement, called on residents to draw inspiration from the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. He described the season as a time for spiritual renewal and recommitment to peaceful coexistence.
“Let us renew our commitment to building a more harmonious community founded on understanding and mutual respect,” Ogunlewe said.

In a similar message, the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, described Good Friday as symbolic of love, hope, and redemption. She encouraged residents to embrace unity and strengthen community bonds during the Easter period.
“Let this season renew our spirits and strengthen our bonds,” she noted.

Also speaking, community advocate and ikosi Isheri chairmanship aspirant, Toyin Balogun highlighted the relevance of Good Friday in inspiring civic engagement and resilience.
“Just as Good Friday reminds us that after pain comes purpose… our community, too, is on the path to renewal,” he said, adding that his leadership would focus on actionable progress rather than empty rhetoric. “Help is on the way,” he assured.

Hon. Anna Abiodun Martins added her voice with a message centered on compassion and shared responsibility.
“Good Friday is a universal message of compassion, forgiveness, and selfless service,” she said. “We must work together to build a society where love leads, equity reigns, and every citizen thrives.”

In Ward E, Mende, Maryland, Olubukola Selimat Adekoya (O.S.A), SSA on Children Affairs and Councillorship aspirant, extended greetings to Christian faithful. She underscored the importance of humility, inclusion, and service to humanity.
“May this season bring renewed hope, healing, and unity to our land,” she said.

The various messages from political and community leaders across Kosofe and Ikosi-Isheri reflected a shared theme: that Good Friday is not only a time of solemn reflection, but also a reminder of the collective duty to build compassionate, inclusive, and forward-looking communities
