As Christians across Nigeria commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, political leaders from Lagos State have extended goodwill messages, calling for unity, reflection, and renewed hope for the country.

Senator Tokunbo Abiru, representing Lagos East Senatorial District, in his Easter message, greeted Christians within his constituency and across Nigeria. He urged citizens to embrace the core values of Easter — peace, harmony, and faith — as reflected in the death and resurrection of Christ.

“As we commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, may we reflect on the profound significance of this season and strive to live in peace and harmony with all, guided by the teachings of the Holy Scriptures,” Senator Abiru stated.

While acknowledging the economic and social difficulties many Nigerians face, Abiru expressed confidence in the reforms being implemented under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. He appealed for patience and collective resolve as the nation journeys towards recovery and shared prosperity.

Joining in the Easter message, Hon. (Prince) Rotimi Agunsoye, mni, who served as the representative for Kosofe Federal Constituency between 2015 and 2023, emphasized the spiritual essence of Easter as a celebration of triumph and moral renewal.

“Easter is not only a day to wine and dine but also a day to soberly reflect on what the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ exemplify for us,” Agunsoye said. He called on Nigerians to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, love, and renewal in their personal lives and in the collective pursuit of national development.

Both leaders urged Nigerians to use the Easter season as an opportunity to recommit to peace, nation-building, and spiritual growth, stressing that the hope Easter brings should translate into purposeful action for the country’s progress.
