Babatunde Muyideen Durosimi, popularly known as BMD, has formally declared his intention to contest for the position of Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) under the All Progressives Congress (APC), following his collection of the party’s nomination form.

BMD, a seasoned public servant with over a decade of experience in local governance, made the move on Wednesday, signaling the beginning of a campaign rooted in grassroots engagement, accountability, and inclusive development.

Speaking shortly after collecting the form, Durosimi described his ambition as a people-driven mission. “This is not just a political aspiration. This is a people-centered mission,” he said. “Agboyi-Ketu deserves transformational leadership—one that listens, one that acts, and one that delivers real impact across our communities.”

His campaign platform focuses on key development priorities including:

Youth and Sports Development: Leveraging his background in sports administration, including his work at Onikan and Campos Stadiums, to promote youth engagement and economic empowerment.

Infrastructure Renewal: Rehabilitating roads, improving drainage systems, and upgrading public spaces to enhance residents’ quality of life.

Education and Empowerment: Expanding access to education and vocational training with a particular focus on women and youth.

Transparent Governance: Ensuring participatory leadership that is accountable and inclusive of all voices within the LCDA.

Recognized as a unifying figure, BMD has built a reputation for bridging diverse interests and mobilizing grassroots support across the LCDA. His campaign, themed “Leadership with Purpose,” aims to deliver bold, inclusive, and sustainable policies that unlock the full potential of Agboyi-Ketu.

With the APC primaries scheduled for May 10 and local government elections set for July 12, Durosimi’s declaration marks a critical step in the political build-up within the council area.
