Residents of Anthony Village in Kosofe Local Government Area have raised serious concerns over a trailer repeatedly making a hazardous U-turn along the ramp connecting the community to the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway.

The illegal maneuver, which has been observed near the busy link road, is described by residents as a major safety threat to other road users, including motorists and pedestrians.

Speaking with newsmen, concerned residents questioned the effectiveness of traffic surveillance cameras installed in the area. Despite significant investment by the Lagos State Government in traffic monitoring infrastructure, residents noted that such reckless driving practices continue unchecked.

“This is a disaster waiting to happen,” one resident said. “The government put cameras there, but trailers still drive dangerously. What’s the point if they are not being monitored or sanctioned?”

The residents have called on the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and other relevant agencies to urgently intervene and prevent potential accidents or fatalities.

The incident adds to growing concerns over traffic regulation enforcement and road safety in several parts of Lagos.
