Hon. Sakiru Adekunle Balogun, popularly known as “The Transformer,” has emerged as the first chairmanship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) to obtain the party’s nomination form for the Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) ahead of the 2025 elections.
Balogun, in a bold move toward actualizing his political ambition, formally presented his nomination form to key APC stakeholders, including the GAC leader, Otunba Bushira Alebiosu; the lawmaker representing Kosofe Federal Constituency, Hon. Kafilat Ogbara; Former APC State, Assistant Publicity Secretary, Hon. Abiodun Salami; and other notable party chieftains. His presentation ceremony was met with widespread applause and strong endorsements, further boosting his campaign momentum.

Renowned for his commitment to grassroots development, youth empowerment, and community service in Agboyi-Ketu, Balogun is campaigning under the theme: “Dreams, Vision, Strong Desire & Passion for Service.” His leadership experience and long-standing dedication to community progress have earned him significant support across the LCDA.
A proud indigene of the Balogun Oyero royal family of Ketu Kosofe land, Balogun enjoys the backing of the Oba of Ketu and the broader Ketu community. Having previously contested for the chairmanship seat three times, many stakeholders see his latest bid as a rightful opportunity for an indigenous candidate to lead.
Echoing a growing sentiment among supporters, the slogan “Awori l’okan” (It is the turn of an Awori son) has become a rallying cry for Balogun’s candidacy in the run-up to the elections.
