The race for the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship ticket in Kosofe Local Government is heating up, with two prominent figures— First term Kosofe Local Government Chairman, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe and Rabiu Olayinka—emerging as confirmed aspirants ahead of the party’s primary election.

As of the close of nomination form sales on April 26, both Ogunlewe and Olayinka had formally declared their intentions by purchasing and submitting the APC expression of interest and nomination forms.

Their entry into the race has stirred political interest across Kosofe, as constituents and party stakeholders await the unveiling of other potential aspirants. While only the two have been confirmed so far, speculation remains rife about additional contenders who may have quietly entered the race.

The APC Screening Committee is expected to begin vetting aspirants from April 28 to May 2. The outcome of this exercise will determine the final list of candidates eligible to contest in the party’s chairmanship primary election scheduled for May 10.

As the screening date draws near, anticipation continues to build around the lineup and dynamics that will shape the contest for Kosofe’s top political seat.
