A leading All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship aspirant in Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Bashir Omogbolahan Saheed, popularly known as Elewedu, has outlined his five-point campaign agenda aimed at accelerating growth and deepening community development in the area.

Bashir, who currently serves as a councillor in the LCDA, disclosed his vision in an exclusive interview with Kosofe Post shortly after participating in the party’s screening exercise at the APC secretariat on Wednesday.

He described his campaign document — the BOS Blueprint — as a commitment to action rather than empty promises, noting that Agboyi-Ketu was ready for a new phase of “rapid growth, economic strength, and community-driven governance.”

“I’m not here to make empty promises. I’m here to do the work, just as I’ve always done,” he said. “Agboyi-Ketu is already on a remarkable path of progress, but this momentum must not stall. It must be sustained and elevated.”

According to him, the BOS Blueprint is anchored on five pillars: Infrastructure and Urban Development; Education and Youth Development; Economic Empowerment and Job Creation; Healthcare and Community Welfare; and Security and Community Development.

On infrastructure, Bashir promised aggressive road reconstruction and expansion across the LCDA, as well as overhauling drainage systems to address persistent flooding. He also pledged to install street lights and push for affordable housing schemes through public-private partnerships.

In the area of education and youth development, he promised continued renovation and expansion of school facilities, establishment of new schools, and increased access to scholarships and bursaries for higher education.

To promote economic empowerment, Bashir said his administration would introduce a Business Growth Fund for small businesses, traders, and artisans. He also proposed a Workforce Placement Programme to connect residents with employment opportunities and formalize the community market system to boost local trade and startups.

On healthcare, the aspirant revealed plans to launch Agboyi-Ketu Healthcare Plus, a scheme that would provide free medical checkups and subsidized healthcare for vulnerable residents. He also promised to upgrade primary health centres with modern equipment, trained personnel, and affordable medications.

Addressing security and community development, Bashir pledged to establish a Local Security Task Force to complement the efforts of police and community vigilantes. He further highlighted plans to enhance street lighting, deploy surveillance systems, and strengthen community policing strategies.

“With BOS, we’re not starting from scratch. We’re building on existing foundations and taking Agboyi-Ketu to even greater heights,” he stated.

As the race for the APC chairmanship ticket intensifies, Bashir positions himself as a continuity candidate with a track record and a roadmap for sustainable development.
