As the countdown to the local government elections begins, councillorship hopeful and founder of the KOB Foundation, Kazeem Balogun, has stepped up engagement with constituents through a community fitness walk in Ward A of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

The event, which drew dozens of residents, was part of Balogun’s broader campaign strategy to connect with the electorate, particularly the youth, whom he says have been instrumental in his growing political momentum.

Balogun attributed the youth support to the track record of his foundation, which has carried out several interventions including food distribution, provision of educational materials, and free eye care services.

“The youths in Ward A have shown their support for my political aspirations due to the impact Kob Foundation has made in their lives,” he said. “I am committed to working with the local government chairman to drive people-oriented projects that will benefit all.”

Beyond politics, Balogun used the occasion to stress the importance of prioritizing health, warning that high blood pressure and neglect of regular health checks are silent killers in the community.

Speaking at the rally, President of the Ketu Youths Association, Muritala Balogun, endorsed Kazeem Balogun’s candidacy, describing him as the choice of the youth. “He has proven himself through service, even without holding a political office. We believe he’s the right candidate to represent us,” he said.

A resident, Sherifat Ajibade, also commended Balogun’s grassroots initiatives, citing his work in education, youth empowerment, and women’s development as reasons for her support.

The monarch of Ketu, Oba Isiaka Balogun, gave his blessings at the event, describing the councillorship aspirant as humble, accessible, and a good listener. He prayed for Balogun’s success in the forthcoming elections.
