The All Progressives Congress (APC) has named Adetola Abubakar Oyedele as its flagbearer for the chairmanship position of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in the forthcoming local government elections scheduled for July 12.
Oyedele emerged as the party’s candidate following the APC primary election held on Saturday, May 10, at the party’s secretariat in Acme. She was selected from a pool of 13 aspirants who were earlier cleared to contest after obtaining nomination forms.
Before her emergence, Oyedele served as the Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, a role that positioned her at the forefront of grassroots community engagement within the council.
In the primaries, she secured 23 out of 25 delegate votes cast, further cementing her lead among the contenders.
The APC also released an updated collation of results from its LGA and LCDA primaries held across Lagos State, with candidates emerging in various councils. Highlights include:
Ifako Ijaiye LGA: Akanbi Hamzat — 25 votes (unanimous)
Igbogbo Bayeku LCDA: Olalekan Habib — 25 out of 27 votes
Ojokoro LCDA: Rosiji Oluyemisi — 21 out of 23 votes
Kosofe LGA: Moyo Ogunlewe — 25 out of 27 votes
Ifelodun LCDA: Olufemi Okeowo — 24 out of 25 votes
Ajeromi-Ifelodun LCDA: Akindipe Olalekan — 20 out of 24 votes
Surulere LGA: Olamilekan Yusuf — 26 votes (unanimous)
Coker-Aguda LCDA: Ogidan Azeez — 25 out of 27 votes
Agboyi-Ketu LCDA: Tola Oyedele — 23 out of 25 votes
Ejigbo LCDA: Taiwo Taoheed / Habeeb Omowumi — 16 out of 25 votes
The APC is expected to formally present its full slate of candidates ahead of the July polls in the coming days.
