Alhaja Sidiqat Lawal, mother of Lekan Lawal, publisher of The Kosofe Inside Out, has died at the age of 87. She passed away on Saturday morning and was laid to rest shortly after in accordance with Islamic rites.
Her death was confirmed by her son in a message to Kosofe Post on Sunday morning. Alhaja Sidiqat would have turned 88 on September 1, 2025.
She is fondly remembered as a devoted matriarch whose compassion and warmth left a lasting impact on her family and the wider community.

The management and staff of Kosofe Post have expressed deep condolences to the Lawal family. Publisher Bilesanmi Abayomi KOKO described her as “an active, caring, loving, and exemplary mother whose absence will be deeply felt by family members, friends, and neighbors.”
Prayers have been offered for the repose of her soul and for divine mercy and forgiveness.
Her passing comes months after the death of her husband, Alhaji S.O. Lawal, who died at age 90 on October 22, 2024.
