The lawmaker representing Kosofe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Kafilat Adetola Ogbara, has congratulated Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe and Hon. Adetola Adunni Abubakar on their emergence as All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship candidates for Kosofe and Agboyi-Ketu Local Government Areas, respectively.

In separate statements issued after the party’s primaries, Ogbara praised both candidates for their dedication, political maturity, and commitment to grassroots development, expressing confidence in their ability to uphold the party’s mandate and deliver impactful leadership.

Ogunlewe clinched the party’s ticket to contest the Kosofe Local Government chairmanship, while Abubakar emerged as the APC flagbearer for Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

However, Ogbara’s congratulatory messages noticeably excluded Samiat Bada, the incumbent chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, whose emergence as the APC chairmanship candidate reportedly triggered protests from 13 other aspirants in the local chapter. The exclusion is seen by observers as a political signal amid ongoing discontent over the party’s internal processes in the area.

Ogbara, who chairs the House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, emphasized the need for unity, credible leadership, and inclusive governance across all local councils. She commended Ogunlewe and Abubakar for what she described as their “grassroots connection and political acumen,” urging all party stakeholders to rally behind candidates with broad-based support.

The APC primaries form part of preparations for the forthcoming local government elections in Lagos State, as the party seeks to consolidate its hold at the grassroots level.
