The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Princess Samiat Bada, has extended an olive branch to fellow aspirants following her victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship primary held on Saturday.
Speaking during a victory rally on Monday, Bada described the primary win as a collective achievement and urged her co-contestants to put aside grievances for the overall success of the party in the upcoming July 12 local government elections.
“To my fellow contestants, I extend my respect. Your passion and courage enriched this process,” she said. “Yes, elections are competitive, but the mission we share is one: the progress of Ikosi-Isheri and the triumph of our great party.”
Bada emphasized the importance of party unity ahead of the elections, noting that reconciliation within the APC was already underway. “We are one family. No winners or losers — only co-builders of a greater tomorrow,” she stated.
Reaffirming her commitment to a more impactful second term, the Mayoress promised that the council would enter a new phase of accelerated development across all sectors. “The next four years will be more rewarding for our people. We’re not slowing down — we’re scaling up,” she declared.
Reflecting on her first term, Bada highlighted strides made in infrastructure, education, health, ICT, empowerment, security, and grassroots governance. She assured residents that her administration’s second term would bring bold expansions and visible results in every ward of the council.
“This is a mandate of progress — not for prestige, but for purpose. Not for titles, but to truly serve,” she said.
Princess Bada also acknowledged the support of key stakeholders and community leaders, including Hon. Afolabi Kazeem, former Executive Secretary of the LCDA; Oba Samuel Alamu Kehinde, Onikosi of Ikosi-Kosofe; Alhaji Sheu Usman Sampan, Chairman of Mile 12 International Market; High Chief Saheed Pasheda Oshorun of Isheri Oke; Engineer Marcus Abegunde; The League of Imams and Alfas; the Christian Association of Nigeria (Ikosi-Isheri chapter); Chief Imam of Shangisha Central Mosque; Baale Orisha; Shangisha CDA; APC women leaders; and youth representatives led by Dr. Seriki Muritala.
With the APC primary now concluded, Bada urged all party members to close ranks and work towards a resounding victory in the council polls.
