The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially presented its councillorship candidates for the July 12 local government elections in Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State.
At a gathering attended by party supporters and political stakeholders, the seven flagbearers—projected to form the 8th Kosofe Legislative Council—publicly displayed their Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) nomination forms, signalling readiness for the contest.
Stakeholders at the event applauded the aspirants for their commitment, urging them to prioritise accessibility, accountability, and people-centred representation if elected. Stakeholders also charged them to uphold the values of democratic governance and deliver tangible development at the grassroots.
The confirmed APC candidates across the seven wards in Kosofe LGA are:
• Ward A, Mosafejo Oworonshoki – Hon. Christiana Kuboye
• Ward B, Orile-Oworonshoki – Hon. Abayomi Benjamin Elugbindin
• Ward C, Araromi/Ifako/Gbagada/Soluyi – Hon. Femi Oyesile
• Ward D, Anthony – Hon. Gbenga David
• Ward E, Mende – Hon. Hakeem Ashafa Oshijirin
• Ward F, Ojota – Hon. Sulaimon Baruwa
• Ward G, Ogudu – Hon. Lekan Adebare
The public display of LASIEC forms represents a critical step in the APC’s pre-election mobilisation efforts in Kosofe, as the party moves to consolidate its dominance at the local level.
As of the time of filing this report, opposition parties are yet to unveil their candidates across the affected wards, leaving the political atmosphere in the area closely watched ahead of the election.
