Coordinator of the Tunde Braimoh Foundation and political stakeholder in Lagos, Hon. Kayode Akanni Oguntunde, has deepened ties with All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders across Europe during a recent holiday visit, reinforcing the party’s growing international collaboration and diaspora engagement strategy.

In France, Hon. Oguntunde paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Akogun Olamikekan Akanni, popularly known as Torinio, who serves as the General Secretary of the APC France Chapter. The visit was part of efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilization support from the diaspora and reaffirm the shared commitment to party development beyond Nigeria’s borders.

Beyond France, Oguntunde held strategic meetings with key figures of the APC UK Chapter, including Mr. Adetola Okesanya and Mr. Babatunde Adewale Oyedele (known as Barnshaw), as well as Mr. Olatunji Ogunbule, a prominent party stalwart in Germany. Discussions focused on party unity, diaspora cohesion, and appreciation for their support during Oguntunde’s political journey.

In a key highlight of the visit, Hon. Oguntunde introduced Hon. Mrs. Adetola Abubakar (née Oyedele), the APC flagbearer for the upcoming Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) elections in Lagos. The introduction was met with warm congratulations from Hon. Akanni and the wider APC diaspora leadership, signaling strong support for her candidacy.

Speaking after the meetings, Oguntunde described the engagements as “strategic and necessary for consolidating APC’s vision of inclusive and cross-border political participation.”

The series of visits reflects the increasing alignment between APC Nigeria and its diaspora chapters, spotlighting the relevance of international party structures in bolstering grassroots political efforts at home.
