The family of the late Hon. Akeem Adebowale-Oke has announced that the 8th-day Fidau prayer in honour of the respected community leader will take place on Friday, June 13, 2025. The prayer session is scheduled to hold at the Oworo Community Field (Papa), Lagos, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM.
Hon. Adebowale-Oke, who passed away on June 6 at the age of 62, was widely known for his lifelong dedication to public service, grassroots development, and community empowerment. Born on June 24, 1963, he was a prominent figure in the Oworo community and beyond, often celebrated for his humility, generosity, and unwavering commitment to the well-being of others.

In a statement issued by the family, the Fidau prayer will also feature a free medical outreach as part of efforts to honour his legacy. Attendees will have access to medical check-ups and medications during the event—an initiative that reflects the late politician’s passion for improving lives.
“He lived for the people and served without seeking personal gain,” a family spokesperson noted. “This prayer gathering is not just to mourn, but to celebrate a man who gave his all to the service of humanity.”
Hon. Adebowale-Oke is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and a large network of extended family, friends, and admirers who continue to pay tribute to his enduring impact.
The Fidau ceremony is expected to draw residents, political associates, religious leaders, and well-wishers who will gather in solemn reflection and to pray for the peaceful repose of his soul.
