The Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mayor Dele Oshinowo (M.D.O.), has earned fresh commendations from residents and civic observers following the successful completion and asphalting of Thomas Laniyan Road.
The 850-metre road project, announced by the chairman via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle and monitored by KosofePost, is the latest in a string of infrastructure interventions under his administration.
“Proud to announce the successful asphalting of the 850 metres Thomas Laniyan Road, bringing ease, accessibility, and development to our people. This project is a reflection of our commitment to quality infrastructure, responsive leadership, and the continuous upliftment of Agboyi-Ketu,” Oshinowo stated.
Residents quickly took to social media to applaud the development while also making fresh appeals for attention to other parts of the LCDA.
One user, Domino, commended the chairman’s dedication, noting:
“Well done… May God bless you not just for your efforts, but your enthusiasm for them. Yaba LCDA and Eti-Osa local government as a whole need to learn from you.”
Another user, LoadedPlug, made a plea on behalf of residents in the Bako axis:
“Oga wa, please remember us at Bako axis 🙏. I know your tenure is about to end, but please, anything you can do for us, even if it’s to pour broken blocks.”
Concerns over urban management were also raised. RichieRich asked:
“Hon, please how can we ensure that the police don’t park scrap vehicles on the road, and that mechanics don’t repair cars or park broken vehicles on the road?”
The enthusiasm was echoed by others, including Charles and Kessj8, who lauded Oshinowo’s commitment to the people:
“Na only this chairman dey for Lagos.” “We need to loan this man to Ikorodu local government on sabbatical. Man is doing so much for his people…”
General Jesse highlighted the importance of proper drainage as part of road infrastructure:
“I see them drainages. Roads are as good as their drainages. Well done, Mayor of Ketu!”
The Thomas Laniyan Road project is seen as a testament to the M.D.O administration’s infrastructural footprint in Agboyi-Ketu. Under his leadership, several roads, health facilities, and public service centres have been upgraded, earning him growing recognition beyond his council’s borders.
As the July 2025 local government elections approach, many residents and observers have noted Oshinowo’s achievements as a model of grassroots development and effective governance.
