Omo’ba Rasheed Awofeso, General Secretary of the CHILD Protection Network (CPN) Lagos Chapter and Chairman of the Kosofe Social Mobilization Committee (SMC), has shared a striking moment of recognition that underscores the growing visibility and impact of the KosofePost digital platform.

Recounting the experience during a recent SMC meeting, which brought together representatives from across the wider Kosofe area, Awofeso said he was taken aback when a fellow participant identified him by his contributions to KosofePost.

Introducing himself as “Omo’ba Awofeso, he was immediately recognised by another attendee, unnamed Super for Health , who exclaimed in Yoruba, “Haaaa, Eyin ni social commentator on KP (KosofePost)!” — loosely translated as, “Ah, you’re the social commentator on KosofePost!”

Reflecting on the moment, Awofeso remarked, “I was shocked. Inside me, I said, ‘Chai! This KP is a widely read online platform.’”

The encounter, seemingly lighthearted, speaks volumes about KosofePost’s expanding footprint as a grassroots media outlet, widely followed for civic commentary, political coverage, and community affairs in Kosofe and beyond.

Awofeso, known for his Multiple roles in Children’s Advocacy and public health sectors, said the incident further affirmed the importance of local journalism in promoting civic engagement and community awareness.

The Kosofe Social Mobilization Committee, which he leads, is a multi-sectoral body dedicated to addressing issues such as public health, education, and development within the local government area.

Observers say the recognition of Awofeso through KosofePost’s platform is a testament to the media outlet’s growing role as a connector of ideas, people, and grassroots governance across the Kosofe axis.
