Labour Party councillorship candidate for Ward C in Ifako-Gbagada, Amb. Moyosore Badejo, has publicly expressed gratitude to digital media outlet, KosofePost, following the unexpected refund of his ₦100,000 media campaign service fee.
Badejo, who is also the CEO of Deity Homes International, described the refund not just as a monetary gesture but as a rare symbol of integrity in Nigeria’s political and media space.
“This is more than a refund. It is an endorsement of transparency and a profound acknowledgment of purposeful grassroots leadership,” Badejo said in a message shared shortly after the development. “It strengthens my resolve to serve Ward C and the entire Kosofe community with renewed dedication, humility, and vision.”
He pledged to reinvest the refunded sum into youth-focused initiatives and community development efforts ahead of the July 12 local government elections, describing the date as “not just an election day, but the dawn of a new generation.”
Badejo also confirmed that he immediately contacted KosofePost upon receiving the refund. “I called when I saw the money—thanks,” he stated briefly.
The media organisation had earlier explained that Badejo stood out for paying for political publicity “with class, humility, and respect,” unlike many political actors who sought free coverage.
Badejo’s public appreciation comes amid growing demands for value-driven politics, as residents of Kosofe LGA prepare to vote in a closely watched grassroots election.
