With the July 12 local government elections fast approaching, Secretary General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) France National Chapter, Hon. Olamilekan Ibrahim Torino, has called on voters in Kosofe Federal Constituency to rally behind the party’s candidates across the area’s three Local Council Development Areas—Kosofe, Agboyi-Ketu, and Ikosi-Isheri.
In a public statement titled “A Special Call to Action to the Good People of Kosofe, Agboyi-Ketu, and Isheri-Ikosi LCDA,” Torino, a native of Kosofe, described the upcoming poll as a critical opportunity to consolidate grassroots gains and demonstrate continued loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“This election is more than just a civic duty—it is a renewed opportunity to shape the destiny of our communities and reaffirm our unwavering support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Torino said.
He rallied support for the APC’s chairmanship candidates:
Mayoress Samiat Abolanle Bada (Ikosi-Isheri LCDA), who he commended for her women-focused leadership;
RS Adetola Abubakar (née Oyedele) (Agboyi-Ketu LCDA), praised for her grassroots development efforts;
Mr. Moyosore Ogunlewe (Kosofe LGA), lauded for his youth engagement and infrastructural strides.
“These individuals represent more than politics—they embody progress, service, and the spirit of community building,” Torino added.
He urged residents of Kosofe to vote en masse for the APC, stressing the importance of local governance in daily life.
“This is our Local Government. This is our root. This is our home,” he said. “Let us vote APC for continuity, development, and effective governance.”
Torino ended his message with a patriotic note, offering prayers for Kosofe, Lagos State, Nigeria, and the ruling APC.
The elections, being conducted by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), will determine the leadership across the 57 local council areas in the state, including chairmanship and councillorship positions.
