Residents and visitors of Ojota, Lagos, were greeted with a bold expression of civic pride as a newly installed gateway signage was unveiled at the entrance of Roju Avenue. Bearing the inscription, “Goodbye from Oju-Ota Kingdom (Ojota – Gateway to Lagos),” the signage was donated by the Ojota Development Foundation (ODF) under its ongoing initiative, “ODF – Saving Lives.”
The unveiling ceremony drew a sizable crowd, including community leaders, local government officials, residents, and supporters, all gathered at the prominent junction linking Ojota to the Ikorodu Expressway to witness the landmark moment.
The gesture comes on the heels of recent infrastructural upgrades to Roju Avenue by the Kosofe Local Government, aimed at improving traffic flow, public safety, and urban aesthetics.
Representatives of the ODF emphasized that the signage serves not only as a directional aid but as a symbolic representation of Ojota’s historical and communal identity. They noted the installation reinforces efforts to promote local development and community consciousness.
Stakeholders lauded the collaboration between the ODF and Kosofe LG, describing the initiative as timely and impactful in enhancing Ojota’s visibility and appeal as a strategic transit hub in Lagos.
