In a deliberate effort to strengthen collaboration and deepen mutual understanding within the local government, the Leader of the 10th Somolu Legislative Council, Hon. Tunde James Oyeyiola, convened a strategic meeting with staff members of the Legislative Arm. The engagement, held at the Council Chambers, served as a platform to align administrative and legislative priorities for more effective governance and improved service delivery.

During the session, the Clerk of the House, Mrs. Florence Jamodu, who led the team of administrative staff, reaffirmed her office’s commitment to supporting the legislative agenda. She stressed the need for seamless coordination between lawmakers and the bureaucracy to advance the Council’s goals and ensure that policies are backed by efficient implementation.

Hon. Oyeyiola, in his remarks, underscored the importance of teamwork, open communication, and mutual respect in creating a functional legislative system. According to him, the health of any democratic institution depends on how well its members work together and uphold shared responsibilities.
Further reinforcing the message, Hon. David Olugbenro urged staff to maintain a high level of professionalism, encouraging a culture of respect and cooperation. Echoing this sentiment, Hon. Olubiyi Afolabi emphasized the need for proper dress codes during official meetings, noting that how staff present themselves reflects directly on the integrity and public perception of the Council.
The meeting, which also had in attendance Deputy Leader Hon. Ibrahim Oduntan, Majority Leader Hon. Afees Raheem, Chief Whip Hon. Sainat Adelaja, and Hon. Kemi Mayabikan, is seen as a pivotal move towards building institutional cohesion. It not only signals the leadership’s intent to foster a healthy work environment but also sets the tone for a more coordinated and productive legislative term in Somolu Local Government.
