Tension within the Kosofe Legislative Arm has heightened as four councillors, popularly known as the “G4,” failed to respond to a defamation notice served on them by their colleague, Hon. Sulyman Baruwa.

Baruwa, through his counsel, Rotimi Seriki (SAN), had issued letters to the councillors demanding a public apology and retraction of claims that he was involved in fraudulent land transactions. The notice, which gave the recipients seven days to comply or face legal action, expired on Monday.

Findings by KosofePost revealed that the G4 neither retracted their statements nor tendered an apology, signaling their readiness to stand their ground.

The development points to a deepening rift in the seven-member legislative arm, raising concerns of a looming legal battle and further political unrest within the local government.
