Growing discontent is brewing in Kosofe Federal Constituency over what many residents describe as the low visibility and uneven spread of constituency projects facilitated by Hon. Kafilat Ogbara in the House of Representatives.

While her Senior Legislative Aide has yet to present a comprehensive report on her achievements, Councillor for Ward A, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Hon. Kazeem Balogun, recently pointed to a number of interventions as evidence of her impact. But his claims have been met with skepticism from locals, many of whom insist on seeing photographic proof and detailed lists of beneficiaries of empowerment programmes and training sessions.

Critics allege that the projects have been lopsided, leaving some parts of the constituency—particularly Gbagada and Ward C—without any federal footprint. “Is Gbagada or Ward C not part of Hon. Ogbara’s constituency? There is no visible project from her office or the Federal Government in our ward,” said resident Adeniyi Adefemi.

In her defence, Hon. Bamidele Ajayi, a former Ward B councillor in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, argued that no representative can personally track every local need. He encouraged residents to communicate their requests through councillors, local government chairmen, or constituency offices.

But Adefemi maintained that fair representation demands equitable distribution of resources across all wards. “For us in Ward C and Gbagada, she has failed to put her presence here. No impact at all, no footprint of her,” he said. “Next election, she should only be limited to those areas where she impacted.”

The controversy has reignited wider conversations in Lagos about transparency, fairness, and accountability in the execution of constituency projects—issues many believe will remain central in the next election cycle.
