Kosofe LG Accused of Neglecting Voter Registration Drive
By Bilesanmi Abayomi
Oloye Oluwaseun Salami has called out the Kosofe Local Government, led by Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe, over what he described as poor commitment to the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Salami, who shared a voter mobilization jingle from neighboring Bariga LCDA on Wednesday, questioned why Kosofe has yet to put concrete measures in place to support eligible residents registering for their voter cards.
According to him, several local governments and council development areas have already set up committees to ease the process, but Kosofe is lagging behind.
“Election results begin from the registration points. It is high time we woke up from our slumber and faced the reality of the challenge ahead. The Gen Z and Obedient movement are busy registering their members while we, as a ruling party, fold our arms and watch,” Salami said.
As of press time, media aides to the Kosofe LG Chairman were yet to respond to the criticism.
