The media aide to Hon. Sanni Ganiu Okanlawon (OKLA), Member representing Kosofe Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Adewale Adenuga, has defended why the lawmaker deserves a third term in 2027.
In a statement published by KosofePost, Adenuga pointed to Okanlawon’s track record of motions, bills, and constituency projects over the past six years, describing a third term as “more than continuity.”

“A third term for Hon. Sanni Okanlawon (OKLA) means more than continuity, it positions Kosofe for stronger leverage and decision-making power in the Lagos State House of Assembly,” he said. “With legislative depth, seniority, and ranking privileges that open doors to juicy committees and high-level leadership positions, he is better positioned to drive impactful bills, complete ongoing projects, shape people-centered policies, and guarantee stable, trusted representation.”
Adenuga further argued that returning Okanlawon would give Kosofe not just representation but “a powerful seat at the table where decisions that shape Lagos are made.”
His defense came in response to Engr. Olusola Emmanuel Adedayo, publisher of MoschinoBlog, who has opposed any third-term bid. According to Adedayo, “two terms are enough for Okanlawon to allow another person to continue from where he stops, because tenure elongation cripples the belief system of aspiring individuals and undermines democracy.”
Adedayo stressed that setting a precedent for extended tenure could weaken democratic principles, urging the lawmaker to step aside after his second term.
Although Hon. Okanlawon has not formally declared his interest in re-election, growing calls from his aides and supporters suggest that a third-term bid on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) may be in the works.
