Many residents remain in the dark about local government policies, programmes, and projects—largely because councils fail to set out a clear manifesto. Yet, local governments carry weighty responsibilities: education, healthcare, welfare, sports, agriculture, roads, and infrastructure.

As Kosofe Local Government enters its second term, the stakes are high. The LCDAs under its umbrella—Ikosi-Isheri and Agboyi-Ketu—are setting standards the main council must now meet. A glaring example is the abandoned IT Library at Emmanuel High School, a project gathering dust while neighbouring councils run active ICT programmes. This gap must be closed.

The truth is, degrees alone no longer guarantee livelihoods—practical skills and vocational certifications do. That is why an ICT-driven vocational centre in Kosofe is not just desirable; it is urgent. Such a facility would equip young people with tools to compete in today’s economy.

Another sore point is the endless tinkering with the council secretariat—demolitions here, patchwork adjustments there. Kosofe deserves a modern administrative complex that reflects its stature and can support effective governance, just like its LCDAs already have.

The path forward is clear: invest in transformative infrastructure, not token handouts. A functional ICT and vocational training hub, alongside a befitting secretariat, will stand as legacy projects—empowering citizens and cementing Kosofe’s relevance for years to come.
