Following his return from vacation, Kosofe Local Government Chairman, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe, embarked on a series of thank-you visits across all wards in the council, an initiative designed to engage constituents and appreciate their support.

The final leg of the tour in Anthony Village saw Ogunlewe accompanied by loyal councilors—Hon. Oyeshile (Ifako Ward), Hon. Oshijinrin (Mende Ward), Hon. Christiana (Oworo Ward), and Hon. Adebare (Ogudu Ward). The group, known informally as the G4 faction, has consistently aligned with the chairman’s leadership.

In contrast, councilors associated with the G3 faction—Hon. Abayomi Elugbidin (Oworo Ward), Hon. Oluwagbenga David (Anthony Village Ward), and Hon. Sulyman Baruwa (Ojota Ward)—were conspicuously absent. Their no-show has fueled speculation of a widening rift between the chairman and the party hierarchy.

Sources within KosofePost suggest that the discord stems largely from disputes over the leadership of the legislative arm. Reports also indicate that cabinet appointments, initially drawn up by both the party establishment and the chairman, may now face last-minute reshuffling due to alleged betrayals linked to legislative power struggles.

With both factions digging in, political observers note that the unfolding standoff could shape not only the immediate workings of the council but also the balance of power between local party structures and executive leadership in Kosofe.
