Seun Ajayi, a resident of Kosofe Local Government Area, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Council Chairman, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe, for his support in helping him secure prosthetic limbs following a life-changing accident.
Ajayi, who lost both legs in a ghastly accident, shared his appreciation via the Kosofe Post WhatsApp platform.
“The Chairman has been wonderful right from the start and has also supported me financially towards getting my prosthetic limbs,” Ajayi said.
Confirming the development, Oloye Salami Oluwaseun, a close associate of the chairman, stressed that Ogunlewe’s intervention should be viewed as a constitutional responsibility rather than personal benevolence.
“The chairman is very lucky to be the custodian of our commonwealth in Kosofe. Whatever welfare assistance he renders to Seun Ajayi or any other citizen is not a favor, but part of his primary responsibility as a leader in public office,” Salami stated.
He recalled being among the first sympathizers to visit Ajayi at Igbobi hospital after the accident, but noted that local politics had overshadowed his role.
Also reacting, disability rights advocate Owoyele Micheal Damilola used the occasion to push for stronger inclusivity in governance.
“When we advocate for inclusive governance where people with disabilities are treated equally and not seen as second-class citizens, some leaders turn deaf ears to our plight. Anybody, irrespective of status, can join our community either through old age or unforeseen circumstances. I wish Mr. Seun Ajayi all the best and speedy recovery. God bless Nigeria,” he said.

Ajayi’s Story of Resilience
Ajayi’s ordeal, which attracted widespread sympathy across Kosofe and beyond, has been a test of courage and resilience. With support from family, friends, and the intervention of the local government, his journey toward recovery—particularly the procurement of prosthetic limbs—has become more hopeful.
Community members now see Ajayi as a symbol of optimism, inspiring others to persevere despite life’s most difficult challenges.
