A new round of verbal sparring broke out on Monday between Engr. Olusola Emmanuel Adedayo, Publisher/CEO of Moschinoblog, and aides of Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, over her performance in office.

The controversy was triggered after Adedayo, popularly known as Moschino, congratulated Bada on her recent tribunal victory but raised concerns about “pitfalls” and alleged nepotism in her administration. His remarks provoked swift pushback from the council’s media team, who insisted that the Mayoress’ record of achievements remained unmatched.

In a strongly worded statement titled “108 Projects That Speak Louder Than Lies,” Lukman S. Aminu, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, reeled out what he described as landmark achievements, including the 105-bedded Oluremi Tinubu Primary Healthcare Centre, the Sanwo-Olu Administrative Complex, the Legislative Building, Customary Court, new markets across Ketu, Mile 12, and Isheri, as well as over 50 road and drainage projects. He also cited initiatives such as the Mayoress Football Academy, ICT centres, and an ongoing 3,000-seater mini stadium as evidence of grassroots impact.

Aminu accused Adedayo of envy and propaganda, claiming that Bada’s tally of over 108 projects “redefined grassroots leadership.”

But Adedayo dismissed the defence as “wishy-washy,” reiterating his allegations of nepotism during Bada’s first term. He went further, advising Aminu to undergo “six months internship training” with former media aide Kehinde Hamzat to improve his communication skills.

The dispute escalated as Omokejimi S.A., who introduced himself as an “Apostle of Good Governance,” waded in to defend Bada, challenging Adedayo to present his own track record against that of the Mayoress.

Amid the exchange of accusations ranging from blackmail to political sponsorship, Taiwo Lasisi, President of the Ta’awun Political Forum, Lagos, appealed for restraint, urging all sides to tone down their rhetoric.

Beyond the fiery exchanges, the episode underscores the deeper divide between critics of Bada’s leadership style and her loyalists, who argue that her record in health, infrastructure, commerce, and youth empowerment speaks for itself.
