The Group of Six (G6) councillors loyal to the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, have distanced themselves from a back-to-school initiative recently organised by Hon. Kafilat Ogbara, member representing Kosofe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

The programme, which saw about 500 pupils benefit from free school materials, drew praise from Hon. Sobanke E. Ayoola, councillor representing Ward B (Shangisha-Magodo). Community Nursery and Primary School, Magodo, located in his ward, was among the beneficiaries. Ayoola publicly commended the lawmaker for the gesture.

However, the silence of the other G6 councillors has raised eyebrows. Findings by KosofePost indicated that some councillors felt sidelined, alleging they were neither consulted nor recognised during the distribution exercise.

A source within the council, who was not authorised to speak publicly, claimed Ogbara relied solely on her former aide—now Ward B councillor, Sobanke—when reaching out, leaving others in the dark about the quality of items distributed and the schools covered.

The source contrasted Ogbara’s approach with that of Hon. Femi Saheed, member representing Kosofe Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, who reportedly consults councillors before embarking on similar community projects.

The development highlights ongoing political tensions between Ogbara and Princess Bada. Relations between the federal lawmaker and local council leaders have remained strained since 2023, when disagreements over campaign fund management first came to the fore.
