The Mayor Dele Oshinowo Foundation (MDOF) has donated ₦3 million to assist victims affected by the recent demolition exercise in Oworonshoki, Lagos State.
According to information gathered by KosofePost, the donation was released over the weekend as part of the foundation’s humanitarian response to provide palliative relief and immediate support to displaced residents.
The gesture has drawn widespread commendation from community leaders, residents, and stakeholders across Kosofe, who described it as timely, compassionate, and exemplary.
Comrade Mudashiru Ismaila Alabi lauded the donation as “a welcome development,” urging others to emulate the gesture.
“Let’s support the victims without playing politics because humanity comes before everything,” he said.
Similarly, Oloye Salami Oluwaseun praised the initiative, calling it a noble act.
“This is timely, commendable, and a gesture worth emulating by all wealthy individuals. I join the beneficiaries to pray for God’s continued blessings upon Mayor Dele Oshinowo,” he remarked.
Omoba Awofeso Rasheed Ololade also applauded Oshinowo’s philanthropic spirit, describing him as “a man with milk of kindness,” while encouraging other Nigerians and corporate bodies to contribute to the relief efforts.
In his reaction, Engr. Bima Abdullahi Mohammed, a community member, expressed gratitude to both MDOF and the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) for verifying the affected victims to ensure proper compensation.
However, Engr. Olusola Emmanuel Adedayo, Publisher/CEO of Moschinoblog, called for transparency in the disbursement process.
“We need more information on how the money will be distributed and how the beneficiaries will be reached. We hope this exercise will be devoid of political influence,” he said.
From Ikosi Isheri LCDA, Àare Fatoki Ayobode Kehinde commended the move, describing Oshinowo as a generous leader whose action “will go a long way” in alleviating the hardship of the victims.
In a separate statement, Lanre Aborisade noted:
“The people of Oworonshoki deeply appreciate MDOF’s generous donation. This reflects true leadership, empathy, and a genuine commitment to humanity.”
Otunba Dehinde Shonibare also described the intervention as “highly responsive and well commended.”
The ₦3 million donation, coming amid widespread displacement and economic hardship, has been hailed as both a morale boost for affected residents and a call to action for other philanthropists and community-based organisations to support recovery efforts in Oworonshoki.
