Controversy has continued to trail the recent political gathering held during the inauguration of the Presidential Coalition Committee (PCC), following conflicting reports about an alleged alliance between the Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye-led Tinubu Mandate Movement (TMM) and the Justice Forum (JF).
Two separate narratives had initially circulated after the event — one alleging that the TMM had entered into an alliance with the Justice Forum, and another claiming that the group had collapsed its structure entirely into the JF/PCC.
However, clarifications from political stakeholders have since dismissed both claims, describing the reports as “misrepresentations of facts.”
Political analyst, Comrade Etim Michael, faulted the speculations, asserting that the absence of key TMM leaders at the event invalidated any notion of an alliance.
“There is nothing like an alliance. As far as the key leaders of TMM were not in attendance, the rally, for me, was nothing but a fluke,” he stated.
Similarly, Engr. Olusola Emmanuel Adedayo, Publisher and CEO of MoschinoBlog, criticized the confusion within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), linking it to internal disunity.
“Kafilat Ogbara didn’t attend the inauguration. Maybe she’s planning her own Presidential Campaign Council with the Mandate Group. These internal divisions cause more harm than good to the party,” Adedayo observed.
From another perspective, Engr. Bima Abdullahi Mohammed of the Deaf Cluster noted that while some members of both groups attended the event, “the majority of the special persons came through TMM, not JF.”
Providing further context, political figure Oloye Salami Oluwaseun clarified that Alhaji Abdullahi Ayinde Enilolobo — not Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye — remains the recognized leader of the Mandate Group currently aligned with the Justice Forum-led PCC.
According to Salami, the realignment was a strategic move by Enilolobo’s faction to reaffirm loyalty to the APC amid widespread speculation about defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), following the fallout between former Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“The Mandate Group under Enilolobo has faced stigmatization due to its association with Aregbesola. Saturday’s event was a courageous step toward regaining the party’s confidence,” Salami said.
He added that the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Barr. Kolade Alabi, in his welcome address, made no mention of any merger or alliance with the Tinubu Mandate Movement.
Meanwhile, KosofePost has urged readers to maintain decorum in ongoing discussions on the issue, emphasizing that personal attacks or insults will not be entertained on its platforms.
