As local government administrations across Lagos State mark their first 100 days in office, public perception of performance varies widely across the 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).
In Kosofe Local Government, Executive Chairman Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe recently addressed party members to clarify his position on the “100 days in office” evaluation often used to gauge early progress. He argued that the benchmark is more applicable to first-term officeholders, not incumbents serving a second term like himself. His statement appeared to respond to growing public curiosity about his administration’s visible achievements within the period.
However, a different narrative is unfolding within the same political bloc. In Ikosi-Isheri LCDA — one of the councils under Kosofe — Chairman Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, also in her second term, has taken a more demonstrative approach. Within her first 100 days, she has commissioned several road projects and other infrastructural works, earning commendation from stakeholders and residents who view her pace as evidence that continuity in leadership can still deliver fresh results.

Observers note that the contrasting approaches between Ogunlewe and Bada reflect deeper variations in leadership style, governance priorities, and accountability culture among local government executives in Lagos State. While some emphasize policy continuity and long-term planning, others lean toward visible impact and symbolic milestones — a dynamic that continues to shape citizens’ perception of performance across the state’s local governance structure.
