Prominent members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kosofe have commended the Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mayoress Samiat Abolanle Bada, for what they described as an impressive performance within her first 100 days in office.

Bada, who is serving her second term, reportedly delivered five road projects alongside several welfare initiatives aimed at improving living conditions in the community. However, while the projects were widely celebrated, details such as the total length of the roads and the cost of execution were not disclosed — a gap that has prompted calls for greater transparency and accountability.

Despite this, several APC stakeholders praised the Mayoress for sustaining developmental momentum and demonstrating that second-term leaders can still deliver meaningful progress.

Lanre Aborisade, a brand and image strategist, commended Bada’s leadership style, emphasizing that governance should be measured by tangible impact rather than political tenure.

“I am not a supporter or admirer of any particular leader, but a firm believer in good governance and community-driven development,” Aborisade said. “Even as a second-term chairman, she continues to deliver tangible results and uphold the essence of public service. Sadly, some of her colleagues have become complacent, hiding behind excuses instead of performance. Leadership is validated by delivery, not longevity.”

Another APC member, Oloye Salami Oluwaseun, congratulated the Mayoress for what he called her “superlative accomplishments,” urging other second-term chairmen who failed to mark their 100 days in office to emulate her example.

“The allocations collected over the past three months are not gifts but funds meant for community development,” Salami noted.

However, not all feedback was entirely favorable. Engr. Olusola Emmanuel Adedayo, Publisher and CEO of MoschinoBlog, while commending the Mayoress for her visible projects, criticized the decision to name one of the newly constructed streets after herself.

“My only grouse is that she named a street after herself,” Adedayo said. “It would have been understandable if her successor had done so after she left office. This act sets a bad precedent in governance and should be discouraged.”

Offering a contrasting view, Oyebanji Aina argued that the idea of measuring political performance based on the “100 days in office” concept is unnecessary and has no constitutional basis.

“Using 100 days in office as a benchmark for performance is an aberration,” Aina said. “Political office holders must perform their responsibilities, but we should not adopt this as a fixed yardstick.”

While opinions differ, the general consensus among Kosofe APC stakeholders is that Mayoress Samiat Bada’s early strides in infrastructure and welfare have set a commendable pace for grassroots governance in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA.
