United Kingdom: Nantwich Police have published their latest weekly update on Facebook, giving residents a clear breakdown of incidents, arrests and community engagement efforts across the town. The #NantwichWatch report shows that 125 incidents were recorded in the past seven days—an increase from 116 the previous week. Violence and harassment accounted for 12% of the cases, road traffic collisions for 6.4%, and domestic-related incidents for 8.8%.
In total, 33 crimes were logged. Nantwich North & West recorded the highest number at 16, followed by Bunbury and Nantwich South & Stapeley with six each. Wrenbury had three cases, Audlem two, while Wybunbury recorded none.
Twelve arrests were made during the week—eleven men and one woman—including three for drug-driving and one related to the supply of Class A drugs during a Friday morning warrant.
The update also highlighted unusual incidents, including a fight at Swinemarket early Sunday, escaped cows on the A51 at Wardle, and youths throwing stones at a vehicle in Snowhill car park. The police also held their SLAAM meeting with over ten housing associations to address problem properties and reduce antisocial behaviour.
Officers joined Cheshire East Licensing and the Pubwatch chairperson on Wednesday to visit nearly all licensed premises in Nantwich, reinforcing compliance and safety—especially around drink-spiking concerns. On Thursday, a 37-year-old woman was charged with seven offences following a July disturbance at a Bunbury pub.
The week ended with a community outreach visit to Nantwich Primary Academy, where mascot Lex participated in the #DinnerWithADifference initiative to build stronger relationships with young people.
Reflecting on the update, KosofePost observed that Nigerian police divisions could benefit from similar proactive transparency by operating active social media pages and issuing weekly community reports, rather than communicating solely through state commands.
