The Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Mrs. Tolani Abubakar, alongside beneficiaries, has lauded the Mayor Dele Oshinowo Foundation (MDOF) for successfully delivering a three-day free health insurance programme aimed at improving healthcare access for vulnerable residents of the area.

Abubakar, speaking at the conclusion of the initiative on Thursday at Agboyi-Ketu LCDA in Lagos, noted that residents with valid LASSRA identity cards were eligible to register, emphasizing that the scheme reduces financial barriers to healthcare while promoting long-term wellbeing.

“We are rounding up the year on a health note, delivering a humanitarian service to our people. This free health insurance plan will benefit 700 residents, thanks to my predecessor, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, in collaboration with the LCDA, Lagos State Health Management Authority, and Eko Social Health Alliance,” Abubakar said.

The chairman highlighted that health insurance is more than a gift—it is a lasting guarantee for good health when used responsibly. She urged beneficiaries to visit their assigned HMO or hospitals for regular check-ups, noting that the programme would positively impact their families and the broader community.

Beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude for the initiative. Mrs. Wasilat Ogundipe praised the foundation for consistently prioritizing community health, while Mrs. Omolara Cyril highlighted the financial relief the programme provides by reducing healthcare costs. Community leader Pa Tomi Ipaye described the plan as a commendable gesture that strengthens healthcare access for residents.

Representatives from the Lagos State Health Management Agency, including Mrs. Tomisin Smith, reiterated the state government’s support, citing the initiative’s alignment with SDG 3 and the fundamental right to quality healthcare.
The three-day rollout reflects MDOF’s ongoing commitment to sustainable community health interventions, ensuring that Agboyi-Ketu residents can access vital medical care without economic strain.
