The Mayor Dele Oshinowo Foundation (MDOF), led by former Agboyi-Ketu LCDA Chairman Mayor Dele Oshinowo, has successfully concluded a three-day free health insurance program for vulnerable residents across Greater Kosofe. The initiative, which spanned Ikosi-Isheri, Kosofe, and Agboyi-Ketu, provided 2,000 residents with health coverage, aiming to ensure healthcare accessibility for all, regardless of their circumstances.

Speaking at the closing ceremony held at Agboyi-Ketu Primary Health Centre, Oshinowo emphasized that the program was part of the foundation’s ongoing commitment to service, “Today, we gather not just to mark the final day of this program, but to celebrate the completion of a journey that began three days ago. Service to humanity does not end with office. This 3-day rollout of the 2,000 free health insurance plan across Greater Kosofe is not just about numbers; it is about lives. It is about restoring dignity, providing reassurance, and ensuring that families no longer have to choose between their health and survival.”

Oshinowo highlighted that the program was designed to give back to the communities that supported him during his eight years in office and assured that this effort would continue, “This is not an end, but a continuation. We had done this before, we have done it again, and by God’s grace, we will continue to do even more.”

Beneficiaries were encouraged to fully utilize their health insurance, with Oshinowo noting, “Your health is your greatest asset. Whenever you need medical attention, you can walk into your chosen healthcare facility with confidence, knowing that help is available.”

The foundation expressed gratitude to key partners who made the program possible, including the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA), Eko Social Health Alliance, Lagos State Health District II, Samson Agbato Consulting, and Ridgewell Construction Limited, commending their professionalism and dedication to expanding universal healthcare coverage in Lagos State.

Concluding the program, Oshinowo thanked the people for their trust and participation, reiterating the foundation’s commitment to building healthier, stronger, and more resilient communities across Greater Kosofe.
