As 2025 gradually winds down, political activities within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kosofe Federal Constituency, Lagos, are beginning to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Investigations by KosofePost indicate that several prominent APC figures in the constituency are already under close watch by residents and party faithful as early consultations and alignments take shape ahead of 2026. Among those attracting attention are the incumbent member of the House of Representatives for Kosofe Federal Constituency, Hon. Kafilat Ogbara; Lagos State Commissioner for Waterfront and Infrastructure Development, Hon. Ekundayo Alebiosu; former Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Hon. Yetunde Arobieke; immediate past Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mayor Dele Oshinowo; and former APC House of Representatives aspirant in the 2023 elections, Remi Odunsi-Oluwalogbon.
Sources within the party disclosed that these stakeholders are facing increasing pressure from supporters, political blocs, and grassroots groups to either return to the race or declare interest in contesting the Kosofe Federal Constituency seat in 2027. Party insiders noted that consultations across wards and communities suggest that the incumbent lawmaker could face stiff competition if key expectations of constituents are not adequately addressed, although observers believe there remains room for political recalibration.

Political undertones became more evident at the recent launch of the Mayor Dele Oshinowo Foundation Free Insurance Scheme held at the Ikosi-Isheri LCDA Secretariat. At the event, the Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Mrs. Samiat Bada, openly canvassed support for Mayor Dele Oshinowo to contest the House of Representatives seat in 2027. At the same time, other stakeholders within the constituency are said to be encouraging the former council chairman to consider a seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly instead.
Mayor Oshinowo has so far maintained a cautious stance, neither confirming nor denying his intention to contest any elective position in 2027. He has continued to focus on philanthropic interventions through the Mayor Dele Oshinowo Foundation, which has been providing social support and welfare programmes for residents across Kosofe Federal Constituency.
As political activities intensify and the first quarter of 2026 approaches, KosofePost will continue to track consultations, alignments, and emerging declarations that will shape the contest for the Kosofe Federal Constituency seat ahead of the next general elections.
