Lagos PDP Mourns Death of Former Lagos East Senatorial Aspirant, Princess Saidat Odofin-Fafowora

The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the death of Princess Saidat Odofin-Fafowora, a former aspirant in the Lagos East Senatorial District 2020 by-election.

Princess Odofin-Fafowora passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, according to a condolence notice released by the party. Her passing has been described as a painful loss to the PDP and the wider political community in Lagos State.

In a tribute, the party noted that the late Princess Odofin-Fafowora was a committed and dedicated party member whose contributions to grassroots mobilisation and the promotion of women’s participation in politics earned her admiration and respect across party lines. She was described as a “rare gem” whose service and dedication to the party would be deeply missed.

Party leaders, members, and supporters have continued to mourn her death, offering prayers for the repose of her soul and extending heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and political associates.

Princess Saidat Odofin-Fafowora was particularly remembered for her courage and determination during the 2020 Lagos East Senatorial District by-election, where she aspired to represent the people on the platform of the PDP.
