The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area, Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe, has commenced legal action against Saliu Adekunle, popularly known as “Africa,” over allegations that he threatened Adekunle’s life.
In a formal demand letter dated January 20, 2026, Ogunlewe’s legal representatives, Raines & Sunnet, described the allegations circulating online as “libelous,” “spurious,” and a calculated political ploy aimed at damaging the Chairman’s reputation.

The dispute stems from a “Breaking News” message allegedly circulated by Adekunle across several political platforms, including PROJECT OKLA. 2026 and APC WARD A. In the posts, Adekunle reportedly claimed that his life was under threat from individuals linked to Ogunlewe’s political camp.
Ogunlewe, through his lawyers, has flatly denied the allegation, insisting that the claim is false and malicious.
“Our client is a law-abiding citizen who will never stoop so low as to threaten the life of a political adversary that is far below his political cadre,” the letter stated.

As part of its demands, the law firm issued a seven-day ultimatum to Adekunle, requiring him to take specific remedial steps. These include publishing a public apology and retraction in two national newspapers, circulating the apology across online news platforms and Kosofe-focused political forums, and paying ₦50 million as compensation for what the Chairman describes as injurious falsehood and malicious publication.
The letter further alleged that the dissemination of the defamatory claims involved Adekunle’s political associates, naming Comrade Shobaloju Abdulazeez and Abdulsalam, also known as Rowtek Integrated.
Ogunlewe’s counsel warned that failure to comply with the demands within the stipulated timeframe would result in legal proceedings, with the Chairman seeking exemplary damages in court.
The legal action comes amid heightened political tensions in Kosofe, as Ogunlewe, a two-term council chairman and State Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, moves to safeguard what his lawyers describe as his “unblemished reputation” in the evolving political landscape ahead of 2026.
