- PDP National Ex-Officio, Lagos
The soft work made on Saturday 16th July 2022 by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator Ademola “Jackson” Adeleke to defeat the incumbent governor. Mr Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola of the ruling APC is the foundation needed by PDP to build the process of not only reclaiming powers but also to restructure Nigeria from the ruins the APC has plunge her into.
This was contained in a release signed by Mrs Funke Ajayi-Crowther, the media aide to the PDP National Ex-Officio member from Lagos state, Hon. David Kolawole Vaughan DAKOVA on Monday morning in Lagos.
In the release, DAKOVA while congratulating the candidate and entire members of the party as well as residents and all indigene of the state of Osun worldwide on the historical feat achieved at the poll, DAKOVA expressed optimism about the chances of the PDP come next year general elections.
“Let me congratulate the people’s Governor, Mr Ademola Adeleke for leading and winning this battle, though it was not easy but he achieved it by defeating an incumbent governor, he had done so well”.
“With this feat now, those who’d always tried to deceive people and indeed themselves by saying Bola Tinubu has the South West in his palm would be put to shame. It is exactly the foundation we need to build upon to defeat them come the 2023 general elections” the release contained.
“There is no better time for the people to make a resounding statement than now, the voice of the people has been heard and it is the same echo all over Nigeria because of the horrible living conditions the APC has crooned us into, the spate of insecurity has become unbearable, there is acute hunger in the land, people toils too much and feed too little, cheap avoidable deaths lives within us and this clueless government had proven to be a numb onlooker, they lack empathy, passion and credibility, leaving the common man to his fate and using abject poverty as a tool of weaponization into vote buying. But the people are now wiser, a foundation has been laid. APC will be gone from power come 2023”.
DAKOVA also used the occasion to admonish the party to bring all tendencies to a round table in Lagos as the crunch hour approaches.
“Lagos state remains the only state in Nigeria that has never been governed by our party the PDP, and we must change this negative narrative. Two examples had just been handed to us within a spate of a month; the Ekiti and the Osun examples. In Ekiti, fragrant disrespect for aggrieved party members was exhibited to the end whereas in Osun, though people were wronged in one way or the other but Sen. Adeleke worked socks down to appease all aggrieved tendencies, never too pompous or too important to mend broken fences, these turn out to add credible value to the PDP victory on the day, I just hope we take the right example”. He concluded.
