Former Councillor Ibrahim Mustapha has dismissed the online media campaign calling for him to run for the chairmanship position in 2025 as fake. He made this known in a short response to the Kosofe Post enquiry on Wednesday.

According to Mustapha, his main preoccupation at the moment is to see the victorious All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the just concluded general elections hit the ground running after their inauguration. He urged residents of Kosofe to ignore the online accounts and described them as fraudulent.

“I hereby inform the general public that the creators and managers of such fraudulent Facebook and indeed all other related online platforms accounts are doing such campaigns on their own,” the statement added.

Mustapha further stated that he has no ambition for the chairmanship position and urged his supporters to focus on other positions at the federal and state levels. He also cautioned the general public to ignore any information from such fake online platforms and campaigners as they are all baseless.

“The attention of the general public is therefore drawn to such campaigners of calumny who are bent on tarnishing his image. The general public is also advised to ignore any information from such fake online platforms accounts and campaigners, as all are fake and baseless,” the statement said.

Mustapha’s dismissal of the online campaign has put an end to speculations about his chairmanship ambition in 2025. His supporters have been advised to focus on other available positions at the federal and state levels.
