Today, the late Senator Adebayo Osinowo, who represented Lagos East Senatorial District, is fondly remembered and celebrated for his significant contributions as an influential politician who positively impacted countless lives across Lagos and beyond. Family, friends, associates, political figures, religious leaders, serving lawmakers, and senators have expressed their heartfelt tributes and admiration for the late senator.
In separate press statements issued on Thursday, heartfelt tributes poured in from various individuals and groups who had the privilege of knowing and working with Senator Osinowo, affectionately known as “Pepperito.” They described him as a remarkable individual who left an indelible mark on the political landscape and the lives of those he served.
Senator Tokunbo Abiru, the current representative of Lagos East Senatorial District, reflected on the memories of his predecessor, expressing deep grief over the colossal loss experienced on June 15, 2020, when news of Senator Osinowo’s passing broke. He praised Osinowo as an influential politician who had a profound impact on his political base and beyond.
Abiru paid homage to Osinowo’s astuteness in politics and his remarkable achievements during his tenure in the Lagos State House of Assembly and later as a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He acknowledged Osinowo’s dedication and service to the constituents of the Lagos East Senatorial District.
Offering prayers for the late senator, Abiru joined the family, friends, and political associates of Senator Osinowo, praying for the eternal repose of his soul. He expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the opportunity to remember and honor his illustrious predecessor.

He was the man who introduced me to the principles of islamic monotheism. I thought I was going to benefit politically from him. I never knew I was going to gain something more beyond politics which is being faithful to Allah alone without seeking help from any other human except Allah. He was my religious/political leader. May his soul continue to rest in peace. I remember those days when I was in justice forum group of the ACN, I used to criticize him then,being the figure of the mandate group in kosofe but I came to realize that he was way better than the JF Leaders I was defending then. Though he has his shortcomings,I still believed that he played a good politics to the best of his ability and he finished strong. Rest in peace Omo won ni ijebu Alare, ki olorun ki o te si afefe ire.
