Hon. Ogunlewe, Takes Proactive Measures to Combat Flooding

In a bid to alleviate the perennial flooding woes in Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Barr. Moyosore Ogunlewe, the Executive Chairman, has embarked on a comprehensive de-silting exercise to clear critical drainage systems. Among the streets recently de-silted, Aina Ajayi Street stands as a testament to the Chairman’s commitment to ensuring a clean and safe environment for the residents.

Prompted by residents’ complaints about the worsening conditions in Aina Ajayi Street and other flood-prone areas, Chairman Ogunlewe assured them of swift action to address the situation. The de-silting exercise extended beyond Aina Ajayi Street, covering other critical areas, including Adebayo Mokoulu Street, Anthony, Bush Street, Anthony, Ajayi Amina Street, Ifako, Diya Street, Ifako, Faramobi Ajike Street, Anthony, Miyaki Street Oworo, Gafari Balogun Street, Ogudu, and Ogudu Road (Barracks).

Chairman Ogunlewe’s administration has garnered recognition for its proactive approach in managing flood risks during the rainy season. Notably, securing a swamp buggy for yearly canal clearance has played a significant role in preventing water from reaching threatening levels in flood-prone regions.

In light of the de-silting efforts, the Chairman urged residents to play their part in maintaining a clean environment by avoiding indiscriminate waste disposal. He emphasized the importance of responsibly disposing of waste and encouraged residents to cooperate with the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) officials in keeping the streets clean.

The residents of Kosofe Local Government were effusive in their praise for the Council-led administration, lauding Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe for his prompt response and commitment to improving the living conditions in their communities.
