A resident in the Ogudu-Ojota area of Kosofe, Lagos, has raised an urgent call to the State Ministry of Environment to address the overgrown trees in the Ogudu metropolis. Mr. Olalekan Afeez, speaking exclusively to Kosofe Post on Wednesday morning, emphasized the need for immediate attention to prevent potential accidents along the road.

The concerned resident highlighted the perilous conditions arising from the untrimmed trees, stating, “At Ogudu Road, the flowers in the road median urgently require trimming. The overgrowth impedes pedestrians’ visibility, making it hazardous to cross the road safely. People are unable to spot oncoming vehicles, posing a significant risk. We appeal for this matter to reach the appropriate authorities.”

Mr. Afeez expressed his concern for public safety and road users’ well-being, suggesting that the overgrown trees need prompt trimming to avert potential accidents caused by obscured visibility for motorists. With safety in mind, he conveyed his plea for timely action, hoping that the responsible authorities would heed his call.

However, despite the alarm sounded by Mr. Afeez, the overgrown trees along the Ogudu Road have yet to receive attention as of the time of filing this report. This situation raises concerns about the need for swift intervention by relevant authorities to address the safety risks posed by the obstructed road visibility caused by the untrimmed trees.
