Lagos Assembly Chairman Extends Heartfelt Independence Wishes, Advocates Unity and Prosperity

Honorable member of the Lagos State House of Assembly and Chairman of the House Committee on Local Government Administration and Community Affairs, representing Kosofe Constituency 01, Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Okanlawon, has extended warm congratulations to Nigerians on the occasion of the nation’s 63rd Independence Day Anniversary.

In a statement issued by his media office, Hon. Okanlawon urged Nigerians to mark this significant day by fostering unity, maintaining peace, and avoiding any actions that could jeopardize the nation’s continued corporate existence. He reminded citizens of the immense sacrifices made by past heroes to ensure Nigeria’s sovereignty, unity, and indivisibility.

The Federal Government declared October 2nd as a public holiday to celebrate Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Day.

Hon. Okanlawon expressed optimism about a better, greater Nigeria through continued support for President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and dedication to national unity. His statement read in part, “As we commemorate Nigeria’s 63rd Anniversary today, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all Nigerians. We are reminded to be proud of the nation’s rich heritage and our patriotic duty to serve our fatherland with love, strength, and faith. We are also reminded that the sacrifices made by our heroes in the past will never be in vain, so we must serve with heart and might as one nation united in freedom, peace, and unity.”

He added, “Let’s pay tribute to the brave and courageous souls who gave their all to protect our country, our flag, and our freedom.”

“A better, greater Nigeria is guaranteed with continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda Programme and commitment to national unity.”

“May the Nigerian flag always reach new heights, and may we continue to be one despite our differences. Let’s remember that we are stronger together than we are apart.”

“I rejoice with the good people of Kosofe Constituency 01, Lagos State, Nigeria, and Nigerians on this auspicious and historic day. May our nation continue to be strong and prosperous as we celebrate many more years of glorious independence.”

Additionally, Hon. Femi Saheed, Chairman of the Committee on Finance and representative of Kosofe Constituency 2 in the Lagos State House Assembly, also extended his best wishes to Nigerians and the President on the occasion of the 63rd Independence anniversary.

He noted, “I join President of the Federal Republic, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and other leaders to greet fellow Nigerians and my constituents as our country marks its 63rd Independence Anniversary.”

Hon. Saheed commended the resilience of the Nigerian people, acknowledging the determination and unity displayed across generations. He expressed confidence in Nigeria’s path to greatness and prosperity, emphasizing the President’s efforts to position the country as Africa’s industrial and commercial hub, attracting foreign direct investments and creating job opportunities for the youth.

He urged the citizens to continue cooperating with the government and fulfilling their civic duties, contributing to the nation’s progress and prosperity.
